Recipe for Ghee Rice

Ghee Rice is the very simple & tastes well with both Veg and Non Veg Curries

Preparation time – 20 minutes
Serves – 3

Ingredients

  • Ghee
  • Oil
  • Bay Leaf – 3
  • Cinnamon – 1 inch
  • Cloves – 3
  • Cashews – few
  • Onions -2big
  • Mint Leaves(Pudina) – few
  • Green peas – 1\4 cup
  • Green chillies – 4
  • Coconut milk – 1 cup
  • Rice – 1 cup
  • Salt to taste

Method
Heat Ghee and oil in a pressure cooker. Add cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf and pudina, then add cashews, onions, green chillies and fry for 2 minutes. Now add  green peas, coconut milk,1 cup of water and soaked rice. Add salt to taste. Wait for 2 whistles and ghee rice is ready. Serve hot with vegetable saagu.
