Here i am posting yet another simple recipe Shavige or Vermicelli Upma, for breakfast. Sometimes when i wake up late in the morning and, then the only recipe which strikes immediately is this recipe.Just you need to have a pack of vermicelli and you are done..It is very tasty.
- Mustard – 1tspn
- Onions – 2
- Tomato – 1
- Channa Dal – 1tblspn
- Curry leaves few
- Green chillies – 6(according to your taste)
- Vermicelli – 400 gms(i used MTR Vermicelli)
- Coriander few strands
Fry vermicelli with little oil till it turns very slight brownish and keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard, when it starts popping add channa dal. Once it turns slightly brown add green chillies, curry leaves and onions. When onions are done add tomato. When tomatoes are cooked add water, double the quantity of vermicelli. Add salt to taste and once when the water starts boiling add the fried vermicelli and cook under low flame till completely cooked. Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
