Akki Roti is all time favorite recipe Prepared in Karnataka. Its crispy and very tasty. For beginners it is a must try recipe. Simple yet tasty dish. You can also prepare plain Akki Roti by adding only grated coconut.
Preparation time – 15 minutes
- Rice Flour – 2cups
- Onions – 2
- Green Chillies – 8(according to your taste)
- Coriander – 1/2 cup
- Grated coconut -1/4 cup
- Salt to taste
Take rice flour in a mixing bowl and add little hot water and leave it for 2 – 3minutes and then add chopped onions, green chillies, grated coconut, coriander and salt. Mix all the ingredients to make a smooth dough.Now make small bolls of the dough and spread on oil paper or cotton cloth. Apply little oil on to tawa and reverse the oil paper/cotton cloth. And apply little pressure to spread the dough evenly. Now roast both the sides applying oil or ghee. Serve hot with coconut chutney and ghee. Ghee enhances the rotis taste. Adding hot water makes the roti soft, but if lack of time you can mix the flour using normal water.
